“Wild Card Weekend”

It has been an interesting weekend in the NFL so far. While the Steelers are currently losing to the Broncos 20-12 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, the other 3 games are in the bag. It started yesterday afternoon with the Bengals and Texans playing the first game of the 2012 playoffs. The Texans had never been & the Bengals hadn’t been in a while. Regardless of that it was a great game to watch. The Bengals did their thing offensively in the first half with AJ Green having his way, it looked like it was gonna be a long day for the Texans D. It was for about 3 quarters, but after that Andy Dalton started making mistakes. Throwing a couple interceptions that killed the Bengals O. While the Texans capitalized, while being led by TJ Yates. Arian Foster did his thing & I was happy for Andre Johnson to finally make it to the postseason. They are definitely gonna be a tough team to beat, because they are hungry. I still think if Baltimore plays their game, they will pull it out. Last night was a shoot out for most of the matchup between the Lions and the Saints. I thought the Lions were going to pull out the W, since they have a better D then the Saints but they didn’t. Drew Brees is putting up ridiculous #’s despite the fact that they gave up 2 fumbles early in the game. The Lions could not capitalize when they needed too. They had 3 interceptions that went through the hands of 3 defenders that should’ve had them. In the end they folded under pressure, Matt Stafford had a great game except for the fact that he threw 2 picks in the second half that basically killed their chances. I’d be willing to bet that the Saints will end up in the NFC Championship, because the 49ers will NOT be able to put up the points that the Saints do. The Giants and Falcons had a good first half today, but it quickly became the Giants game in the 2nd. Their D was too much for Matt Ryan & the Falcons. If Ryan could get the QB sneak down, things may be different. The Giants keep rolling & will play the Packers next week. It is quickly starting to feel like 2007 again New York. If Eli can keep doing his thing & the Giants D stands tall like they have been, it may get ugly for Rodgers & Co. next week. It’s been a great weekend. I love the NFL, even if my Colts are at home watching the action with me. It’s now the 4th quarter with 11 minutes left and Denver is up 23-13 & Pitt has the ball. I did not see this coming. Whoever wins will be facing the punks ass Patriots next week, so for me I hope it’s the Steelers that pull out the W. Either way, this has been the most interesting game thus far.
